Looking Glass
1) Contemplate
The light shines through
From this window
But it's shut tight
So winds can't blow
Reflecting back
All that I see
Another face
That looks like me
Do all my memories
Live inside
Finding a place
Where they may hide
Although my body
Will not pass
I wonder through
The looking glass
2) Reflect
My reflection
Does all I do
But what happens
When out of view
Than images
There must be more
For could this
Window be a door
That opens out
In worlds made new
Unlock my mind
And travel through
Although my body
Will not pass
I wonder through
The looking glass
3) Infiltrate
A mirrored scene
Of all my life
A picture of
My home, my wife
If I could change
This backwards view
Would the real thing
Be altered too
I think I'll try
And enter in
This world to which
I've never been
Although my body
Will not pass
I wonder through
The looking glass
4) Captive
I brace myself
And touch the glass
Through the mirror
My fingers pass
It's silent here
And I can see
When looking back
I look at me
My reflection
Won't touch the pane
To let me live
My life again
Because my image
Will not pass
I'm trapped inside
The looking glass
